JAKARTA, NNC - Ahmad Dhani's lawyer, Ali Lubis, said that the current examination of Ahmad Dhani as a suspect in the case of alleged of hate speech through social media is still ongoing.
However, he indicated that Mulan Jameela's husband would be discharged after being questioned.
"There are four lawyers, including me, who accompany (Ahmad Dhani-red), later after the examination, he may go home," Ali said when confirmed by reporters on Friday (12/1/2017).
Meanwhile, South Jakarta Metro Police Chief Commissioner Policeman Iwan Kurniawan said that Dhani will not be arrested and will likely be released soon.
Ahmad Dhani's case began when he uploaded a post on Twitter containing contents of alleged hate speech. The sentence reads, "Anyone who supports the blasphemer is a bastard who needs to be spat on his face".
As a result of the upload, Dhani was reported to the police by a supporter of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), Jack Boyd Lapian, who was also the founder of BTP Network on Thursday (9/3/2017). Then the case was delegated to South Jakarta Metro Police.
In his report, Ahmad Dhani allegedly violated Article 28 paragraph 2 jo Article 45 paragraph 2 of Law RI Number 19 Year 2016 About Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE).
